So unbearably selfrighteous are leftists becoming nowadays, that they think they do popular entertainment, not junk TV; they are transgressive, not plain flippant; they are innovative, not outright ludicrous.
Poor and very old Diane Sawyer, in her tearjerker turned respectable thanks to Prada, loads of glitter and fake progressive credentials Good Morning America, demanded that American-Idol star Clay Aiken come out and confess his homosexuality to her. Using her typical stale and patronising "C'mon darling, you are safe here" air, she asked the singer if he was ready to say he was gay. To her astonishment, Aiken called the question "rude" and basically suggested that Sawyer had much better keep her mouth shut. He added " I don't think you're rude because I figure people have a job to do".
"Wrong, dear. People like Sawyer don't do jobs, they so social service" would be the ready-made leftist answer to Aiken, who in a few words has contributed more to social enlightenment that the tones of crap Radical publishing houses relentlessly churn out.
I suggest the young hunk should go to Sawyer's long time friend O'Reilly and speak his mind about this and other issues -I am sure there's a heart of molten butter lurking underneath Bill's blokish mannerism. The Irish warrior would be perfectly elated.
What's the matter with Diane? Is she so desperate that she has resorted to pestering studs in order to get laid? "Honey, I am La Sawyer, are you gay or should we just pop into my place?" How ghastly!
Unfortunately, Aiken will soon have to issue a statement apologizing, clarifying that he did not really meant what he said, that he regards Sawyer with utmost respect and that, by the way, he does not support Bush.
However price the young star is made to pay for his frankness, it was worth noticing that after all, Liberals do not always get away with murder.
